I was what society would call a good person. I never drank, smoked, or did drugs, or anything like that. I still don't. I don't think I will ever be so stupid as to destroy my body. My friends were mostly christian adults, and home schooled christian young people like me, so they didn't get me into trouble.
But after I read the whole Bible, I realized that being a good person wasn't going to get me to Heaven. The Bible says that there are none righteous, no not one. ( Read Psalms chapter 14, and Romans chapter 3. ) This means that even though I thought I was a good person, I was still not living the way God wanted me to live, and bearing fruits worthy of repentance. ( Check out Matthew 3:8 & Luke 3:8 )
Then, I decided that I better do something about it. I prayed to God and told Him that if I was going to be any better, He would have to change me. So, I asked Him to forgive my sins, and to change my heart. He did! I knew that God had given me a new life,- what Jesus called being born again, or more accurately, BORN FROM ABOVE, because my goals and desires were different. Even though I had been baptized once before, I wanted to be baptized again, because the first time, I didn't totally understand what it was all about. On July 7, 2001 I was baptized by immersion in a nearby lake.
You see, baptism doesn't really change a person. Baptism is a picture of what God has already done for you. Notice in Matthew 3:2, the first thing that John the Baptist did was to preach repentance. Notice also, in Luke chapter 3, that the people asked John what they should do before they were baptized. He told them that they needed to bear fruits worthy of repentance. Repentance means a change of mind. The people who came to be baptized by John, realized that the going down beneath the water represented the death of the old person, who wanted to sin all the time. The rising up out of the water signified the beginning of the new life in Christ. I know that I could never have changed myself. I am depending upon God to complete what He has begun in me. The Bible says that when we are in Christ, we are new creations. ( 2 Corinthians 5:17 ) If you want to have a new relationship with God like I have, here's what you need to do: Take an honest look at yourself. Admit to yourself, and to God, that you are not living the way you should live. You can talk to God anytime, anywhere because God is Spirit. He's always there, even though you can't see Him. It's best to do this when you're alone. Talk to God, just as you would talk to me. Tell Him that you are sorry for the way you have been living, and that you would like Him to give you a new heart and human spirit. Keep asking Him until you know that He has done this for you, and you are a different person inside. ( Read Jeremiah 31:31-34 and Ezekiel 11:17-20, and you will understand how God makes a person a new creation, or makes one born of God .)
After that, He'll do the rest. Read your Bible every day, and make it your goal to read the whole Bible, so that you will learn more about Him, and how He wants you to live. Seek to have Him baptize you with the Holy Spirit to give you the power to live a successful christian life.
On a personal note: I love the outdoors and all of God's creation. I especially love fishing.

A few of my fish! I'm 22 now, and I hope to be married someday,- to a real nice Christian lady that I have yet to meet. My dad has shown me, by example, how a man should lay down his life for God and his family every day. I believe that she will be a wife like my mom, a woman of faith, who is unselfish, and serves God, and her family every day. Looks are not a major consideration, as long as the looks don't include tattoos, body piercings, facial piercings, excessive jewelry, and a lack of self control, when it comes to eating.
If God has made you a new creation, I'd love to hear about it. If you have questions, please contact me. Click here to send me an e-mail.
If your church or youth group, in the Mexico Beach, Florida area, would like me to come and minister to you, in worship music, and in the Word, on a Wednesday evening, send me an e-mail.
Also, you might want my dad to tell you about the photos of Noah's Ark that he has located, and about the discovery of the Red Sea Crossing Site.
